Movie hall
Saturday, December 22: French electronica duo Daft Punk, that sold out Keyspan Park last summer, has just released the film “Electroma,” screening tonight at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. The movie follows two robots on their quest to become human beings — and features new songs from the band, of course.
9 pm and midnight at the Music Hall of Williamsburg (66 N. Sixth St. at Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg). $10 per showing. For information, call (212) 260-4700 or visit

Lights in the Heights
Sunday, December 23: Dyker Heights has some of the most stunning Christmas displays around — we’re talking two-story Santas — and we can’t think of a better way to spend an early Sunday evening than gaping at those blinking bulbs. Grab a hot cocoa from Mona Lisa [1476 86th St. at 14th Avenue in Bensonhurst, (718) 837-9053] and check out the area homes, especially on 83rd Street between 10th and 12th avenues.
‘Summer’ Christmas
Monday, December 24: Tonight, Southpaw will host its “Jewltide” party, a night-before-Christmas tradition. Dive into a buffet of Chinese food, watch “Wet Hot American Summer” and the first 100 people take home a free copy of Michael Showalter’s new comedy CD, “Sandwiches and Cats.”
8 pm at Southpaw (125 Fifth Ave. at St. Johns Place in Park Slope). $15. For information, call (718) 230-0236 or visit
www.spsounds.com.
Gift giving
Tuesday, December 25: If you want to try giving a Christmas gift to the community, check out the Prospect Park YMCA’s program for feeding people in need. Last year, volunteers, working in 45-minute shifts, helped bring food and toys to more than 2,500 hungry people in Brooklyn — which is a lot more satisfying than eating 10 more gingerbread men.
9 am-4 pm at the YMCA Prospect Park (357 Ninth St. at Sixth Avenue in Park Slope). Free. For information, call (212) 691-2800.
New Year’s peep
Friday, December 28: The sparkly folks at Wassabasco Burlesque are throwing an end-of-the-year party tonight at Union Hall, where you can expect to see performers like Nasty Canasta (pictured), GiGi LaFemme and Creamy Stevens in their naughty, bawdy acts.
10 pm at Union Hall (702 Union St. at Fifth Avenue in Park Slope). $8. For information, call (718) 638-4400 or visit
