Makin’ bacon
Tuesday, July 22: Tonight, Tom Mylan, butcher at a few of Williamsburg’s finest eateries, drops into cooking supply shop The Brooklyn Kitchen to teach a class in pig butchering. Mylan will teach fearless foodies how to hack up a hog, and each attendee will leave with 6 to 8 pounds of ready-to-cook pig.

Friday, July 25: This afternoon on the beach of Kingsborough Community College, state Sen. Marty Golden and Maria “The Ice Cream Girl” Campanella will host the second annual “Brooklyn Ice Cream Eating Contest.” While it gives us a brain freeze just thinking about it, the lucky winner will pocket a $200 gift certificate to Marina Ice Cream Depot in Midwood — and that’s pretty cool.
