Irish singer-songwriter Nina Hynes plays Pete’s Candy Store in Williamsburg Friday. Born in Dublin, Hynes has played alongside such international acts as Sinead O’Connor, Luka Bloom and the late Jeff Buckley. She has been favorably compared to Bjork, Mazzy Star and The Sundays.
Her five-song debut album, "Creation," was finally released in the States in November by Reverb Records after a successful European release in 1999. "Creation" is a moody, sonically rich and diverse introduction to the highly acclaimed young artist.
Her show at Pete’s will feature songs from "Creation" as well as from her upcoming full-length album currently being recorded in France for release later this year.
Nina Hynes’ performance will begin at 8 pm on April 13 at Pete’s Candy Store [709 Lorimer St., (718) 302-3770]. No cover charge.
