Novelist Amy Herrick will read from her new book, "The Happiness Code" (Viking, $24.95), about a Brooklyn family that discovers a baby on their doorstep, on July 6 at 3 pm at Sunny’s bar in Red Hook.

This week’s Sundays at Sunny’s program, coordinated by "Red Hook" author Gabriel Cohen, at the bar at 253 Conover St. between Beard and Reed streets, will also include a reading by Blake Nelson from his young adult novel, "The New Rules of High School," and a slide show of life on New York Harbor tugboats presented by photographer Carolina Salguero.
