"The show is a step back in time," Fort Hamilton spokesman Ray Aalbue said of "Twilight Tattoo," the ceremonial program which will be staged at the Fort Hamilton U.S. Army base on Saturday.

"The drum corps wears Revolutionary War replica uniforms and the drill team puts on an exciting show," said Aalbue. "The audience also learns about the history of the [U.S.] Army from the birth of the army 230 years ago all the way up to the present war on terrorism."

The U. S. Army Military District of Washington and the U. S. Army Garrison Fort Hamilton will present "Twilight Tattoo 2005" on Pershing Loop Field at 6 pm on June 11. The event is an hour-long military pageant honoring the 180th birthday celebration of Fort Hamilton and will feature soldiers of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment troop units and ceremonial units, including the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps and the U.S. Army Drill Team, the U.S. Army Band Blues jazz ensemble, and vocalists from the U.S. Army Chorus and The U.S. Army Chorale.

Enjoy a free slice of birthday cake after the show.

"Twilight Tattoo 2005" is free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Due to security measures, early arrival is recommended and a valid photo ID is required at the entrance (Seventh Avenue at Poly Place in Bay Ridge).
