On Nov. 1, former New York Mets All-Star
first baseman Keith Hernandez (pictured) steps up to the plate
for the Cobble Hill Health Center. Funds raised at the annual
"Field of Dreams" benefit, which is chaired by Hernandez
and hosted by Warner Wolf, are earmarked for a planned assisted
living center for patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
This year’s event will honor southpaw pitchers and fellow former
Mets Al Leiter and John Franco.
"Field of Dreams" kicks off with cocktails at 6 pm,
followed by dinner, dancing, an awards presentation and a sports
memorabilia auction, at the New York Hilton, 1335 Sixth Avenue
at 53rd Street in Manhattan. Tickets are $1,000. For more information,
