A photographer who snares headlines in her own right for securing access to the world’s most sought after celebrities - such as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’s baby Suri for the September issue of "Vanity Fair," Annie Leibovitz has now drawn the attention of the Brooklyn Museum, which opened an exhibition of 200 of her photographs on Friday.

"Annie Leibovitz: A Photographer’s Life, 1990-2005" remains on view through Jan. 21, 2007 and includes full-on glamour shots such as this 2003 portrait of actress Nicole Kidman (pictured), taken for "Vogue," as well as personal photographs of Leibovitz’s family and friends and her reportage from the early 1990s siege of Sarajevo.

Leibovitz will be honored by the museum’s "Women in Arts" program on Nov. 8 at 11 am, which is a fundraiser to benefit the museum’s programs. Tickets to this event, which include admission and parking, are $125-$1,500. For more information, call the Community Committee at (718) 789-2493.

"Annie Leibovitz: A Photographer’s Life, 1990-2005" remains on view at the Brooklyn Museum (200 Eastern Parkway at Washington Avenue in Prospect Heights) through Jan. 21, 2007.
