Thieves hit “leadership” school

del.icio.usLess-than-positive leadership was on display when burglars vandalized a Red Hook school and stole $1,500 in electronics on March 12.
Sometime between midnight and 6 am the thieves busted through eight classroom doors and stole two digital cameras and a laptop computer from PS 27 on Huntington Street, between Columbia and Hicks streets, police said.
Police had been called to the school the previous night, before midnight, and found the school was secure. But when a 49-year-old worker arrived at the Agnes Y. Humphrey School for Leadership, she discovered the doors and windows to the classrooms broken and the valuables missing.
Officers with the 76th Precinct returned and this time found two screwdrivers and a paint scraper, in addition to the damage.
