It wasn’t merely Earth Day in Park Slope but Earth weekend. On Thursday, Kids from PS 372 on Carroll Street collected old cellphones and musty old sneakers to be reused.

On Friday, students from PS 58 on Smith Street planted gardens, made sculptures, put up bird feeders, and got a visit from “No Impact Man,” enviro-celebrity Colin Beavan (talk about a Park Slope/Cobble Hill superhero — “Faster than a speeding composter! More powerful than a solar-powered espresso maker, it’s No Impact Man!). You still have a few hours to get in on the green fun.

On Saturday, April 21, the Park Slope Civic Council and Park Slope Parents host a spring cleaning at the Old Stone House in J.J. Byrne Park (Fifth Avenue between Third and Fifth streets). The all-day action starts at 10 am.
