Shocker of the week: Park Slope supports gay marriage.
A public hearing held by Community Board 6 on Monday ended with the unanimous resolution in favor of Gov. Spitzer’s bill to grant marriage licenses regardless of gender. Comments came from only one side of the playing field.
“[The bill] could impact us positively in a way that most laws can’t,” said Elly Spicer, who moved to Park Slope with her partner two decades ago.
Supporters included Spicer’s son, Tyler, who told the crowd that he mentions his two moms all the time. “It’s the first thing I say about myself,” he said.
