Monty armed robbery, carjack

for The Brooklyn Paper

Two men — who may have been armed — forced a Brooklyn Heights man to withdraw $800 from an ATM before ordering him to drive them to Manhattan on June 16.

The drama began at 10:30 pm, when the man, who was getting into his car, was approached by the two men, one of whom claimed to have a knife.

The men forced the victim into a bank vestibule on Montague Street between Court and Clinton streets, where he withdrew the cash.

But these perps weren’t done yet. After pocketing the money, they ordered the man back to his car so he could drive them to the Herald Square area.

Gym rat

A workout fiend had his locker cleaned out as he pumped iron at an Atlantic Avenue gym on June 14.

The man said that he returned to the locker room at around 4:20 pm to find that his wallet, which contained his ID, Social Security card, and various credit cards, was gone.

The man told cops that he had locked his valuables inside the gym, which is between Court Street and Boerum Place.

Lemme see

A quintet of thugs surrounded a man sitting in Cadman Plaza Park and stole his camera at 2 pm on June 15.

The man, who had been relaxing with a friend on a bench near Middagh Street, was tinkering with his camera when the group approached and asked to see it.

After he agreed, the man turned and walked away with the device. When the victim tried to recover the camera, the thugs turned on him and started punching him in the face.

The camera was not recovered.

Moped moping

A woman’s moped was swiped off a Downtown street just a half-block from the 84th Precinct stationhouse overnight on June 16.

The victim told cops that she had parked the motor-bicycle contraption on Johnson Street near Gold Street, but when she returned to it the next morning, it was gone.

A surveillance video captured the two men taking the $1,500 scooter and fleeing.

DUMBO disaster

A man and a woman were robbed by two men — one of whom may have been armed — on Front Street on June 13, cops said.

The couple was walking near the corner of Front and Gold streets at around 8:30 pm when the men approached.

“Who’s got money?” one of the men asked, pointing to his waistband where, apparently, he had secreted a pistol.

Given the nature of the threat, the man and woman turned over a cellphone and wallet.

Police said they are looking for two men, one black and the other Hispanic.

Book worm

Here’s a throwback to a simple age of crime: A teenager had his library card stolen by a bully at the Brooklyn Public Library’s Cadman Plaza branch on June 8, cops said.

The 17-year-old told cops that he was at the branch library, which is near Clark Street, at 2:35 pm, when another teen approached and asked to see the card.

When he refused, the card was snatched from his hand, and the assailant fled.

Underground man

Two women were robbed in the F-train station at Smith and Bergen streets on June 14 — but the thieves were quickly caught, cops said.

The women, ages 55 and 24, were entering the station at around 9:30 pm when two men blocked their way. One of the men displayed a gun and demanded the women’s possessions.

Frightened, each woman handed over her watch — one valued at $250 and the other valued at $1,200. The robbers also got $200, some credit cards and a purse.

Later, cops collared a 39-year-old man and his 14-year-old accomplice and charged them in the crime. No details were given about the arrest.
