Brooklyn College RadioThis student run station mixes genres like indie rock, top 40 pop and country with a bread-and-butter playlist of hip-hop and R&B. Politicos should tune in on Saturday afternoons at 3 pm for “Voices of Freedom,” which fuses discussion on the political issues of the day with popular music.

BrooklynVegan onSirius Satellite RadioBlogging and radio unite on Sirius Satellite Radio’s weekly show, “Left of Center,” hosted by popular keyboard jockeys. Music blogger Brooklyn Vegan plays indie rock from the likes of Blonde Redhead and Girls Against Boys, and often lands musical guests like Edward Droste of Grizzly Bear and Jared Van Fleet from Voxtrot.

Kingsborough Community College RadioBesides being known as the only station where you can catch Cyclones games, Kingsborough Community College Radio broadcasts a wide variety of tracks including ’80s, new wave, punk, R&B and hip-hop. Sunday nights at 7 pm, tune into Ed Caufield’s “Jazz Years,” featuring classic and contemporary jazz for over a decade.
