A group of two-wheeled hoodlums terrorized the Fort Greene area on Aug. 21, mugging two men 15 minutes apart.
The first incident happened at 11 pm on the corner of Waverly and Gates avenues, where the victim saw three men following him home from the gym on bikes. Suddenly, the leader, dressed in a dark hoody and jeans, got off his wheels, struck the man with a blunt object, and tried to take his backpack.
The hours at the gym paid off, however, and the would-be victim pushed the man away and ran off as the bikers fled.
Just 15 minutes later and a few blocks away —Â at the corner of Fulton Street and Vanderbilt Avenue —Â another man was approached by three guys on BMX bikes who had the same MO, striking the man with a bat-like object and ordering him to hand over his wallet. This time, the bandits were successful, riding away with the man’s new iPhone, in addition to credit cards.
An unusually adept thief broke into a Clinton Hill house and got away with $23,000 in valuables without setting off the alarm.
The 54-year-old resident left his house on Carlton Avenue near DeKalb Avenue on Aug. 18 and came back two days later to get a nasty welcome home: He had been robbed of a ring worth $14,000; four paintings worth a total of $6,000; and some less-valuable jewelry.
The man told cops he had set his alarm system before leaving, but it had been mysteriously deactivated when he got back.
A pair of twins was attacked by strangers who apparently didn’t like the looks of either sibling.
The 20-year-olds were walking on Emerson Place near Myrtle Avenue on Aug. 23 around 3:30 pm when three men jumped them with some unconventional weapons. One twin was hit with a metal dustpan, while the other one was hit in the face with a broom handle, causing bruises and swelling.
Once the perps finished assaulting the pair of victims, they got into their dark Jeep and tried to run the twins over, but missed.
No demands for money or valuables were reported.
