Runners aren’t the only ones who will suffer during next weekend’s Marathon.
The 26-mile race requires major closures on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge on Nov. 3–4. Plan accordingly:
• The upper level of the bridge will be closed in both directions from 11 pm on Saturday to 3 pm on Sunday, to permit roadway preparations for the race. Additionally, no vehicles containing hazardous materials will be permitted to cross the bridge in either direction during this time period.
• On Sunday — race day — the lower lanes get into the act, effectively closing the bridge for most of the morning: Brooklyn-bound lanes will be closed from 8 am to 1 pm, while Staten Island–bound lanes will be closed from 7 am to 2 pm.
