He threw out the umbrella so they chose to stab him

The Brooklyn Paper

Two thugs stabbed a guy with his own umbrella on Oct. 27 after he discarded it near the car in which the men had been sitting, said police.

The stabee had been walking on the southeast corner of Berry Street and Metropolitan Avenue at 2:10 am when he tossed his umbrella near the light-colored car.

To his astonishment, two guys jumped out of the vehicle, yelled, “You f—ing faggot,” picked up the umbrella and proceeded to thrash him with it before thrusting it into his right shoulder blade.

The Morgan Avenue resident was reportedly taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

The attackers fled in a vehicle bearing the New York license plate number DUT3967.

Some friend

A Graham Avenue man woke up to discover that the “friend” who’d slept over was missing — and so were some of his more prized possessions.

The trusting guy, who lives on Graham Avenue, between McKibben and Boerum streets, awoke on Oct. 26 to find that his apartment was short one iMac, one iPod, and an unspecified amount of cash.

Car stolen

And you thought private parking spots were safe. A Manhattan Avenue resident’s Dodge Caravan was stolen from his private parking spot behind his home while he was sleeping.

When the Greenpoint resident, who lives between Seigel and McKibben streets, woke up on Oct. 27 and went to his private spot to discover that the 14-year-old blue minivan was gone.

Cops are on the lookout for the vehicle, bearing license plate number ASV 5535.

Another car

A Union Avenue restaurateur discovered that someone had stolen his two-year-old Ford Explorer from a parking spot near his home on Oct. 28.

The Maujer Street resident had parked his car on Union Avenue, between Ten Eyck and South First streets. He estimated the SUV’s worth at $35,000.

Car vandalized

At least this guy still has a car. A Roebling Street resident rolled out to his Subaru at 11 am on Oct. 28 to discover that its left passenger windows had been smashed in.

The 2005 blue sedan, which had been parked near his home between South Eighth and South Ninth streets, was also missing a $2,000 TV/DVD system and a satellite-guided navigation system.

Lady nabs thief

A resourceful lady dashed after a thug who snatched her purse while she was walking in Greenpoint on Oct. 24.

The 33-year-old victim was walking near the intersection of Humboldt Street and Skillman Avenue at around 7:30 pm when the thief approached her and grabbed her purse, police said. She chased after him, saw him climb into a dark SUV, and relayed the license plate number to the cops. Detective Gross collared the thief in the 77th Precinct just a few hours later, police said.

The victim did get her purse back, though police said they only “recovered some of her property.”

Gun arrest

Undercover cops discovered a .40-caliber handgun in a car traveling through Greenpoint, after cops stopped the vehicle for a routine infraction, police said.

Cops in unmarked vehicles pulled over the two men while they were driving down Dupont Street, between Manhattan Avenue and the Pulaski Bridge, at 6 pm on Oct. 17 after the two guys failed to use a turn signal.

When cops searched the car, they found the handgun, police said. Officer Andiniou arrested the two men, one 26, the other 31, police said.

Dead horse

Cops busted a 15-year-old kid for trespassing — and then discovered that he was carrying 400 glassine envelopes of heroin, each worth $10 on the street, police said.

Officer Triglio nabbed the teenager at 5:15 pm on Oct. 17, near the corner of Jackson Street and Debevoise Avenue, police said.
