Police are hunting for a thief — and a would-be thief — who hit banks in Brooklyn Heights and Downtown on consecutive days last week.

The first incident occurred on Dec. 4 at a Montague Street bank near Clinton Street. The would-be robber, a 5-foot-9, 190-pound man in his early 20s, entered the bank around noon and put an envelope on the counter. He then showed off his handgun, saying, “Look what I got,” and demanded money.

The teller wasn’t fazed by his threat and didn’t comply, and the perp fled empty-handed.

The next day, another stick-up artist decided to use his gun to make a withdrawal. This perp, a black man in his 60s who was dressed in black sunglasses and a ski cap (pictured), had a similar approach as the younger man.

He entered the bank, which is on DeKalb Avenue near Fleet Street, at 12:30 pm, handed the teller a brown envelope and pulled out a silver handgun.

“Don’t make me use it,” he told the employee. “Just fill up the envelope with fifties and hundreds.”

The frightened teller complied, and the man escaped with $14,806.
