A panhandler wasn’t satisfied by a generous donation of $5 early on Dec. 14 and chased his benefactor down St. Felix Street with a knife, screaming, “I want more money!”
The generous 34-year-old told cops that he had just left a bodega at the corner of St. Felix Street and DeKalb Avenue at around 4 am and gave the panhandler the $5.
But the beggar wasn’t satisfied, so he pulled his knife and gave chase. The generous man handed over another $20 and the beggar put down the knife.
This was the second time the victim had been robbed in Fort Greene. About nine years ago, he was mugged at the corner of South Elliott Street and DeKalb Avenue, he told cops.
Cops nabbed a 30-year-old for using forged license plates after they approached him for smoking what the police referred to as a “marijuana cigarette.”
The stoner had been idling in his 1993 Chevy truck at 10 pm on Downing Street, between Gates and Putnam avenues. Cops said he caught their attention because he was smoking a doobie.
After further inspection, cops found he was carrying forged license plates. They collared him and charged him with criminal possession of the forged licenses, a felony.
Two large groups of teens battled it out on Vanderbilt Avenue in a wide-ranging fight on Dec. 10.
The action started when one group encountered the other near the corner of Atlantic Avenue at around 4:30 pm and a fight broke out.
After that brawl, a 13-year-old member of one of the groups was approached from behind by as many as 30 guys.
One of the guys asked him if he was a Blood, but before he could answer, another man hit him on the back of the head with a piece of wood.
He tried to fight back but was outrageously outnumbered.
The group proceeded to pummel him and leave him on the ground. A Good Samaritan helped the teen into a Fulton Street barbershop, and an ambulance took him to Brooklyn Hospital. The assault left him with swelling in his head and eyes.
“It’s cool, it’s cool,” said a guy to his accomplice, before they punched an unwary 28-year-old in the face as he was exiting the Clinton-Washington subway station on Dec. 9.
To make matters worse, the guy who threw the punch was wearing a ring, which tore into the flesh on the victim’s nose.
The assailants also tried to grab the victim’s bag, but he held on tight during the 9:40 pm attack at the northeast corner of Lafayette and Washington avenues.
The victim got his nose treated at Brooklyn Hospital.
