Fire escaped

for The Brooklyn Paper

A thief made off with $2,700 in valuables from a Prospect Place apartment on Jan. 2.

Cops say that the thief entered the fourth-floor apartment, which is between Classon and Grand avenues, through unlocked window on a fire escape.

He grabbed a professional Canon video camera and $200, and fled.

Hangover row

On New Year’s Day, a verbal argument turned violent when 27-year-old man punched a 31-year-old woman in the neck at a Sixth Avenue bodega.

Cops say the man was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault in the attack, which was at the corner of Dean Street.

Bar bummer

A thief grabbed a woman’s purse off the back of her chair as she downed burritos at a popular Flatbush Avenue Tex-Mex bar on Dec. 27.

The 24-year-old woman told cops that the thief got away from the restaurant, which is at the corner of Prospect Place, with an iPod, cellphone, credit cards and a fancy purse — an $840 haul.

Andrew Hamilton from Cleveland, Ohio says:
Just a question, not to be printed. Why no crime blotter for the East Flatbush area?
