Using the element of surprise, the thief struck from behind, yanking away the popular gadget at 5 pm, close to the corner of Fort Greene Place.
Thieves broke into a car parked in a gated lot on Willoughby Street on May 14, stealing the owner’s handgun, wallet, laptop and iPod.
The victim told police that he left his vehicle in the presumably secure garage at the corner of Fleet Street at 3:30. He returned a half-hour later to find his window smashed and his possessions — including a .38 caliber revolver he kept under the front seat — gone.
A 15-year-old teenager watched helplessly as several attackers beat up his father during a mugging in their apartment building on Fort Greene Place on May 15.
The 44-year-old paterfamilias and his son told police that several individuals surround the elder member of the family in a stairwell inside the building between DeKalb and Lafayette avenues at 1:20 pm.
The gang pounded and kicked the man, breaking his glasses, and ultimately taking his cellphone.
