GO Brooklyn Editor

There are just a few more weeks left until Swedish home furnishings superstore IKEA opens its first New York City location on Beard Street in Red Hook.

GO Brooklyn couldn’t wait for the June 18 opening (or the June 16 sneak peek promised on the IKEA Web site), so we took off for the Paramus, NJ store — which insiders say was the model for the Brooklyn store — to see what the planned location will offer.

IKEA spokesman Joseph Roth pointed out that while there are similarities between our soon-to-open IKEA and the Paramus location, Red Hook’s will have an impressive view of the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan skyline from its top floor restaurant.

We were amazed at the bargains to be found. Here’s a list of what 20 bucks can get you:

KLAPPER VILD hand puppets, $3.99 each.

ISIG gift cards, set of 40, 1 cent.

FNISS wastebasket, available in red, black or clear (pictured) polypropylene, $1.99.

NOT floor lamp with steel base and polypropylene shade, $6.99.

IDBYN magnetic clips, set of four, $.99.

SIGNE cotton rug, variety of color combinations, $2.99.

MATA four-piece child’s dinnerware set that includes spoon, cup, bib and bowl, $2.99.
