The ol’ fake e-mail trick fooled an Oliver Street woman into handing over $4,500 on June 6.

The victim reported the incident to police 10 days later, claiming that someone posing as a bank rep needed her personal info to keep her account open.

The woman’s reply e-mail included her Social Security and bank account numbers, address and mother’s maiden name. And that was more than the scammer needed to pilfer her account.

Gun on the loose

A rude houseguest stole a man’s gun out of the safe in his Ridge Boulevard apartment on June 17.

The gun owner, who lives near the corner of 74th Street, told police that he was in the bathroom at around 10 pm when the soon-to-be-former pal snatched his keys.About 90 minutes later, the gun owner realized that his Smith and Wesson, worth more than $500, was gone.

Delivered

Two armed perps robbed a deliveryman of more than $2,000 on June 18.

The victim told police that he was stopped at a light at 14th Avenue and 65th Street at around 12:30 pm when the bad guys distracted him by saying that his side door was open.

After he pulled over, the thugs rushed over. One pulled a gun and said, “Gimmie the money — I know you got it!”

After he handed over the cash, the perps fled.

Road rage

Two rough dudes assaulted a man near the corner of Eighth Avenue and 62nd Street on June 15.

The victim told police that the fight began after he had pulled over his car at the corner at about 3:30 pm. It is unclear what sparked the dispute, but he told cops that the two men threatened to beat him up.

Then, they did just that, striking his hand with a metal jack and slapping him several times in the face.

The banged-up man gave police the license plate number of the assailants’ car.
