A 42-year-old Brooklyn Heights man stabbed himself to death in a bathtub on Hicks Street on Tuesday afternoon, cops said.
Police cordoned off the area around 166 Hicks St., near Love Lane, at around 4:15 pm when the body was found, fueling local concerns that a murderer had been on the block.
But as helicopters swirled overhead and residents of the usually quiet block traded rumors, cops quickly ruled that the death was self-inflicted, despite the multiple stab wounds to the torso.
A longtime neighbor told the New York Sun that the suicide, who lived in a house on the same block between Clark and Pierrepont streets, was married with two young twin girls.
