Bag brouhaha

A bike-riding perp in Seth Low Park tried to get away with a kid’s bookbag on Aug. 18, but was caught by cops.

The teenaged victim told cops that he was in the park at around 11:30 am when he put down his bag near a fence. The perp then rode by on his bike and grabbed the bag — but the victim gave chase.

Luckily, the bag slipped out of the clumsy thief’s hand about 15 yards from the fence and was retrieved by the victim. But unluckily, the perp caught up with the teen and punched him in the face. Another villain showed up and joined the fight, also punching the victim, cops said.

The victim’s mother was nearby and called the cops, who picked up the first thug on 67th Street and 20th Avenue.

She gets boned

A brutal thug broke an elderly woman’s arm on West 11th Street on Aug. 14 during a struggle over her handbag.

The victim, who was between Avenues T and U, told cops that the thief came from behind her at around 5 pm, grabbed her arm, and forcibly removed her purse. In the tussle, the perp broke the victim’s arm so severely that the bone punctured the victim’s skin, a condition commonly known as a compound fracture.

Necking

A man was stabbed in the throat on 17th Avenue on Aug. 13, cops said.

The victim, who was walking between 77th and 78th streets, was approached by the perp at around 2:45 pm, who displayed a kitchen knife before stabbing the victim.

Cell’s fury

A man was robbed of his cellphone on West Eighth Street on Aug. 17.

The man told cops that he was between Avenue P and Quentin Road at around 1:15 am when a perp approached him and said, “Give me all your money and your cellphone,” while grabbing his waistband as if he had a gun.

The victim turned over $200 and his phone to the thug, who fled in a white SUV.

Tamper tamper

A crafty thief sneaked into an 81st Street house on Aug. 14 after picking the lock, getting away with $4,000 in cash and jewelry.

The victim, who lives between 18th and 19th avenues, told cops that she came home around 2 pm to find the property missing. The lock appeared to have been tampered with.
