Apple a day

Four scoundrels beat up a man on Vanderbilt Avenue in order to steal his iPhone on Aug. 13.

The villains punched and kicked the 22-year-old victim to the ground on the block near the corner of Greene Avenue at 3 am before removing the prized invention of Steve Jobs from his hand.

Lost his shirt

A hoodlum mugged a man on Flushing Avenue and Navy Street on Aug. 12 for the clothes he was carrying.

Cops say that the assailant ambushed the 28-year-old victim at around 2:21 am and inflicted injuries to his ace and arms. In the melee, the mugger captured three pairs of pants, two polo shirts and a cellphone.

Bagel bugle

A vulnerable DeKalb avenue restaurant was robbed again overnight on Aug. 7, the latest incident in a larger spree against eateries on Fort Greene’s commercial hub.

The crook triggered an alarm system at 4:30 am, but by the time police and employees arrived to the scene, they were left looking at the evidence of a broken window and mangled security gates.

Employees said that a cash register, home theater and $49 had been in the store, which is between Clermont Avenue and Adelphi Street, when they left at 10 pm that night.

Sticks and stones

A teenager pelted a man with stones while he walked down Fleet Walk on Aug. 11.

The 29-year old victim told police that he was ambling between Myrtle Avenue and Tillary Street at 6:30 pm when a young man bombarded him with pebbles and rocks.

He ended up with scratches and contusions.
