Alas, the city’s outstanding public pools closed for the summer on Monday evening, ending the all-too-short, two-month bathing season. Our editor, Gersh Kuntzman, headed for the Double D pool in Boerum Hill to file this bittersweet report — a sad bookend to our earlier swim team coverage back on opening day.
