The two faces of Park Slope were fully on display on Sunday, as hundreds of empty seats showed up for an anti-war rally, but hundreds of dollars were raised at a 14th Street bake sale for presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
Though the crowd at the peace rally left a lot to be desired (like a crowd, for one thing), the Sroge family raised a whopping $600 for the Obama campaign.
“The excitement was intense,” said Rebecca Sroge. “One guy was so excited, he gave us $100 for four cupcakes!”
The cupcakes, by the way, were marked to move at just 50 cents apiece.
