Friday, Sept. 19 was “No Park(ing) Day” — and activists rushed to retake valuable curbside space from cars.
Our favorite was this verdant spot on Bedford Avenue near North Seventh Street in Williamsburg, which had been converted into a “meditation garden” for the day.
Brooklyn Heights’ “park” was at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Court Street, and featured a kiddie pool.
Park Slopers got into the spirit a day later, setting up “Park Slope Park” in a spot at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Fourth Street.
