The Brooklyn Paper will resume home delivery in several Brownstone Brooklyn neighborhoods later this month and will deploy newsboxes in strategic on-the-street locations, Publisher Ed Weintrob announced on Thursday.

This two-pronged expansion of The Paper’s print product will complement the steady growth of its award-winning Web site, BrooklynPaper.com, which has more than 600,000 page views per month.

It is timed to coincide with the lauching of The Paper’s 30th anniversary celebration.

Last year, Brooklyn’s real newspaper was named Newspaper of the Year, and its editor, Gersh Kuntzman, was named Editor of the Year and Columnist of the Year, by Suburban Newspapers of America, the largest trade association of community newspapers in city and suburban markets.

And last month, BrooklynPaper.com was named best Web site by the Independent Free Papers of America, which also awarded our print edition first place for front-page design.

In addition to home delivery and newsbox placements in select areas, The Paper’s print edition will continue to be available in more than 250 “bulk drop” locations.

The Paper’s home-delivery system is unique — no more than two papers are delivered to each building, and the number of advertising inserts is capped at three — to avoid the type of front-door clutter that accompanies typical circular distribution, Weintrob said.

“Once again, The Brooklyn Paper takes the lead, and remains the leading news organization in our borough,” he added.

The Brooklyn Paper was the first general-interest free-distribution newspaper in Brooklyn when it began publication in 1978, and was a pioneer in online publishing in Brooklyn.
