You’ll find great products, service and prices at Better Carpet Warehouse! Owners Wayne McPherson and Edwin Perez, who have a combined 42 years in the carpet industry, will help you find the perfect rug for your home or office.

Better Carpet holds vast selections of residential and commercial carpets, handmade rugs, floor mats, and runners from all over the world — including Belgium and Turkey.

And if you need carpets professionally cleaned and restored, you can rely on the wonderful staff at Better Carpet Warehouse. McPherson and Perez don’t stop at selling and cleaning carpets, though; They also sell tile and linoleum, and will sand and stain your wood floors.

In addition to Better Carpet’s low prices, the store offers 10-percent off on any area rug cleaning and wall-to-wall cleaning — pickup and delivery is available.

Better Carpet Warehouse (443 Atlantic Ave., between Nevins and Bond streets in Boerum Hill). Open Monday and Thursday, 9 am–7 pm; Tuesday–Wednesday and Friday–Saturday, 9 am-6 pm; Sunday, 11 am–5 pm. Call (718)-855-2794, visit www.bettercarpetwarehouse.com, or e-mail betterrug@fcc.net for info.

Hall Street Green Storage

Hall Street Storage in Clinton Hill, the first green self-storage space in the country (yes, OUR country!) that opened earlier this year, is continuing its commitment to renewable energy by powering its hot water with Brooklyn sunshine.

A solar water heater was installed this month, supporting the effort to cut down on fossil fuels and carbon emissions by reducing energy use by up to 90 percent. Renewable energy sources can achieve that percentage, and this solar water heater will pay for itself over a couple of years.

The solar water heater was purchased from Solar Water Way, a new Brooklyn business and a customer of Hall Street Storage (see www.solarwaterway.com). A unit will be on display in the store at Hall Street, giving people an opportunity to see how solar water heaters work close up.

Hall Street Storage’s green mission began with a decision to use only electricity generated from renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind energy. That earned the company certification by Green-E (see www.green-e.com).

Hall Street Storage (12 Hall St., between Flushing and Park avenues in Clinton Hill). For information, call (718)855-4477 or visit www.hallstreetstorage.com.
