Don’t call these crooks light-fingered — they swiped a much-loved handmade bench from a Park Slope jewelry and gift store on Nov. 11.
An employee of El Milagro, which is at the corner of Seventh Avenue and 11th Street, told The Brooklyn Paper that a woman entered the store shortly after nightfall and kept inquiring about items in the back of the store.
With the clerk busy, someone picked up the $685 hand-painted metal bench and carted it away.
The clerk didn’t think much of it at the time, but once she noticed that the bench was gone, she remembered that the “customer” had been furtive in her repeated attempts to keep the saleswoman in the back of the store.
Since the theft, the store has posted a sign in the window seeking information on the missing bench.
