A gunman barged into an India Street nail salon and stole $267 from two terrified employees on Jan. 23.
The victims told police that the robber rang the store’s bell at about 7:20 pm, and pulled a mask over his face just before he was allowed inside.
Once in the store, which is between Manhattan Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard, he strode directly to a tin can where the shop kept its money.
The first employee began to scream, prompting a second employee to come out from a backroom to investigate.
This apparently startled the robber, who then pulled a gun, pointed it at the second employee’s head and directed both victims to the back of the salon.
According to the report, the masked man also demanded that the women pull up their shirts. But his aim was not titillation, but security. When neither of the women complied, he pulled their shirts over their heads to frustrate their ability to pursue him.
