Here’s another reminder to be careful about whom you go home with.

A Manhattan man who woke up on Feb. 5 at a Butler Street hotel, did not recognize the man lying next to him or remember what caused the black eye he was sporting, so he grabbed his clothes and ran out — only to realize that his wallet and iPod were missing.

The man told police that when he woke up in the Comfort Inn hotel, which is near Third Avenue, at around 9:30 am, he had “no memory of what happened to him or how he ended up in a hotel room in Brooklyn,” according to the police report.

But the 23-year-old did know the way back to Manhattan, where he sought treatment for his injuries.

While en route to St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital, he noticed the missing wallet and called his credit card companies, which told him that several unauthorized charges had already been rung up.

Police are skeptical of the man’s claim to have no memory of how he ended up in a Brooklyn hotel room with another man.

“This guy is on a river in Egypt — denial,” said a police source. “He woke up in a hotel room with someone, felt guilty, threw on his clothes and ran out of there.”
