In a pickle

A burglar broke into a popular Montague Street sandwich shop on Dec. 23, looting a safe of $3,463.

An employee came to the café, which is between Clinton and Henry streets, the next morning, only to find the front door unlocked and the money gone.

Dental damn!

A perp broke into a Dean Street dentist’s office on Christmas Eve and stole a laptop.

The security alarm went off at 6:30 pm, but by the time cops arrived to the storefront, which is near Nevins Street, the front glass door was shattered and the burglar and laptop were gone.

’Tis the season

A number of burglars struck gold on Christmas Day, with at least five perps stealing victims’ wallets, purses, and other belongings. Here’s a roundup:

• A perp stole a man’s wallet and a bottle of rum from the inside of his coat pocket, which the victim had left hanging on a coat rack at an indoor children’s play space on Atlantic Avenue. The incident happened around 4:30 pm at the site, which is between Hoyt and Bond streets.

• A burglar broke into a gym rat’s locked locker at a popular Atlantic Avenue gym, making off with the victim’s wallet. The man went to swim in the gym’s pool, which is between Smith Street and Boerum Place, but when he came back to his locker five hours later, the door was wide open and his wallet was gone.

• A true Grinch stole a man’s car on Christmas morning, also stealing $3,000 worth of CDs and a pair of $90 headphones. The car’s owner parked his sedan on Warren Street, near Bond Street, but when he came back at 11 pm, the car wasn’t there.

• A man mugged a woman at the corner of Bridge and York streets just before 7 am on Christmas morning. The woman forked over $200 without a fight, but as soon as the man took it, he pushed her to the street, where she cut her hands and face.

Christmas thieves

A perp stole a woman’s wallet as she was grocery shopping at a Montague Street supermarket on Christmas Eve, and then used her credit cards to rack up some Christmas presents of his own.

The woman noticed her wallet was missing from her bag — and told cops she had $200 in there before the 12:40 pm mugging at the store, which is between Court and Clinton streets.
