This crime stinks

for The Brooklyn Paper

Sweet smell of stealing

Perhaps desperate to find Christmas gifts for their sweethearts, criminals snatched designer perfumes in a pair of robberies.

• A crook walked off with Bulgari, Armani and Ferragamo perfumes — and a pile of other loot — from a Fourth Avenue apartment on Dec. 20. The thief entered through the front door of the unit, which is at the corner of 73rd Street, between 1:30 and 7:30 pm, and stole a laptop case, a Zara jacket and $390, along with the designer scents.

• A brazen thug crashed through the front door of a Fort Hamilton Parkway hair salon and grabbed the shop’s stock of eau de toilette — 20 French bottles valued at $2,500. The crook smashed the glass door of the beauty parlor, which is near the corner of Bay Ridge Avenue, sometime between 7 pm on Dec. 16 and 10 the next morning, and also stole 18 watches and $250.

Mostly stolen car

Thieves only took parts from a woman’s flashy convertible on 90th Street — but the owner is going to have a tough time driving after the robbery.

The spiffy silver Honda’s canvas roof was cut sometime between 11 pm on Dec. 17 and 9 pm on Dec. 18 near the Dyker Beach Golf Course. The crooks stole the convertible’s steering wheel, seats, shifter and gauges.

14 benjamins

A dastardly hood broke into an elderly man’s 12th Avenue apartment on Dec. 12 and made off with 14 hundred-dollar bills.

Restarurant 213

The crook smashed open the front door of the 83-year-old’s basement apartment, which is at the corner of Bay Ridge Parkway, between 10 am and 9:30 pm. He didn’t take anything besides the cash.

Smash and grab

A robber broke down the door of a basement apartment on 70th Street on Dec. 16 and got away with $1,000.

The perp robbed the place, which is between 11th and 12th avenues, between 6 am and 8 pm, while the tenant was at work.
