Another gunpoint mug

for The Brooklyn Paper

Gun mug!

A man beat and robbed a woman at gunpoint on 10th Avenue on March 7.

The 45-year-old victim told police that she was between 62nd and 63rd streets at around 8 pm when the suspect approached pulled out a gun.

He then grabbed the woman’s purse and hit her in the face several times with the pistol before running down the street with the bag, which contained nearly $100 and various debit and credit cards.

Gym rats

At least two lockers were broken into in separate incidents at local gyms last week.

First, someone grabbed nearly $200 from a locker inside of an 86th Street sports club on March 2.

The victim, 27, entered the Dolphin Fitness Center at the corner of Fourth Avenue at around 9:15 pm and locked up his wallet and work clothes, police said.

When he returned to the locker just an hour later, he discovered that his money and an American Express credit card were gone from the wallet inside.

Two days later, someone stole more than $120 from the locker room of another 86th Street gym.

The 56-year-old victim told police he entered the New York Sports Club, between Fourth and Fifth avenues, at around 5:15 pm and locked up his belongings. When he returned, the lock had been broken off the cubby and his wallet was gone.

Purse snatch

A man nabbed more than $950 from a woman’s purse as she walked on Ninth Avenue on March 4.

The 39-year-old victim told cops she was walking home at around 10 pm when a man approached her at the corner of 62nd Street, snatched her purse and fled, making off with the cash and the new $150 designer handbag.
