Project stalled, but Ratner is still buying Yard land

Atlantic Yards builder Bruce Ratner gave his long-delayed mega-development a rare sign of life when he purchased a new parcel in the project’s footprint for the first time in over two years.

Ratner paid about $3 million to acquire the headquarters of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers at 467 Dean St. — a squat 10,000-square-foot building between Flatbush and Sixth avenues, the Real Deal reported on Wednesday.

The acquisition is one concrete sign that Ratner is still committed to the project, despite his own admission that it is stalled.

Project foe Daniel Goldstein said that the land purchase may not have anything to do with Atlantic Yards.

“Ratner’s true goal is to control 22 valuable acres in the heart of Brooklyn,” Goldstein said.

“If Forest City Ratner controls those 22 acres, it will not benefit anybody but Ratner.”
