Hammering head

Police locked up a 45-year-old fiend after he repeatedly bashed another man in the back of the head with a hammer at the corner of Ashland Place and Myrtle Avenue on March 27.

The victim, 51, lost consciousness and suffered lacerations from the whacks to the cranium at 12:14 pm. He was taken to Long Island College Hospital for treatment.

Take the lunge

A knife-wielding maniac on Hall Street stabbed and mugged a woman on March 28.

The attack, which resulted in a “small laceration” to the victim’s stomach according to police reports, took place at 5:42 am between Willoughby and DeKalb avenues. According to the woman, the man brandished the blade and said, “Don’t scream or I’ll cut you.” But he wasn’t a man of his word because he immediately lunged and cut the woman with the shiv.

He then slashed the strap on her purse and ran off with the pocketbook, containing a Blackberry, $15 and her passport.

Cats and dogs

A man and woman were arrested for assaulting a police officer inside the Daffy’s department store on Flatbush Avenue on March 29.

The troubles began at 2 pm when the man, 22, and the woman, 24, tried to bring a cat and dog into one of the other stores in the Bruce Ratner-run Atlantic Terminal Mall.

A security guard blocked them, so the couple scurried off with their critters to Daffy’s. A police officer followed them there, but a dispute arose, and the officer, a 35-year-old woman, received a laceration to her finger in the scuffling prior to arresting the animal lovers.

Knock-around guy

A hood mugged a 33-year-old man by knocking him to the ground at the corner of Willoughby Avenue and Washington Park on March 23.

The victim, who was attacked from behind at 8:46 pm, told police that the ruffian stole his iPod.

Phantom strike

A burglar mysteriously broke into a Clinton Avenue apartment between March 25 and 26.

There were no signs of how the intruder entered the residence between Myrtle and Lafayette avenues while the victim, a 42-year-old woman, was out from 2 am on March 25 until 7 am the next day.

She reported losing multiple earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings, an iPod and $360.
