Broadway star Bernadette Peters and Brooklyn’s chief bulldog, District Attorney Charles Hynes, journeyed to an animal shelter in Williamsburg on Tuesday to praise three Brooklyn organizations battling cruelty (it is “Animal Abuse Awareness Month,” you know). The rescued pets wagged their tails and appeared happy to meet the singer and DA, but some barked in complaint that Bo Obama was not on hand.
