A bunch of clowns at Coney!

The Brooklyn Paper

He might not be the king of Brooklyn, but Borough President Markowitz is the borough’s one court jester.

With great fanfare last Thursday morning, the irrepressible showman joined harlequins and a pachyderm from Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus to announce that tickets are now for sale for the summertime run of the so-called “Greatest Show on Earth” in Coney Island.

The first show of the “Boom-A-Ring” spectacle under a big tent on West 21st Street and Surf Avenue will be on June 18.

Operators are standing by. While you’re on hold, read this week’s interview with Markowitz, above.

Coney Island Boom A Ring [West 21 Street between the Boardwalk and Surf Avenue, (201) 507-8900], June 18 to Sept. 7. Tickets start at $10. For info, visit the Ringling Bros. Web site.

jerry from brighton beach says:
For those who were not at this photo op. Marty Markowitz went "bonkers" ( loud & obnoxious) when he was being interviewed by a reporter from the Bay News. The reporter questioned Markowitz about the Amphitheater & the 2 Jewish Synagogues located across the street which is a violation of the Sound Permitting adminstrative law & he went "crazy" on the reporter. I hope this was captured for You Tube. This would show where Mr. Markowitz's true alliances are with. Not with the people for sure.

Sue from Boerum Hill says:
Ahhh, Markowitz the clown prince, red nose and all. He should have a red face for all his mis-deeds on development - Atlantic Yards, condos inside our public parks, hundreds of trucks coming onto our streets from Phoenix Beverage. About all he can do is laugh...at us.
