A thug violently stripped a man of his cellphone on Elm Place on May 18, apparently angered that the victim had ignored his earlier demands.
The victim told cops that he was talking on his phone on the sidewalk, between Livingston and Fulton streets, at around 4 pm, when a man approached him from behind and said, “Let me get that.”
When the victim, still on his phone, turned away from the offender, the hoodlum punched him in the head and grabbed the phone from his hand.
A pickpocket’s pernicious plans were foiled by his intended victim’s screams at Macy’s on Fulton Street on May 18.
The woman told cops that she was riding an escalator at the department store, located between Hoyt Street and Gallatin Place, at 1 pm, when she felt a hand slip into her pocket. When she turned and starting to scream, the would-be thief ran off.
