You want mermaids? We got mermaids

The Brooklyn Paper

Saturday’s Mermaid Parade was a washout — but that doesn’t mean Coney Island wasn’t filled with frolicsome, scantily clad men and woman and King Neptune, Harvey Keitel. Here’s our photo feature.

Rain didn’t put a damper on this year’s Mermaid Parade on Saturday (well, actually it did, but many gawkers had a good time anyway).

This year’s King Neptune, actor Harvey Keitel, had a good time.

It costs money to pay us photographers and we get paid by the photo...keep in mind that you are reading a free newspaper darlin :)

For the record, I AM in fact a "real" photographer who took over 500 pictures. Yes, there were more floats, but honestly it was nothing much compared to last year or the year before. It was a disappointing turnout, especially when it came to people who dressed up or had floats, in fact it was almost pathetic. The gawkers outnumbered the participants.

If you are so disappointed, go play on flikr and you can get all pictures you like both good and bad. Meanwhile, they are going to go cover the news.
