The Olympics are coming to Park Slope

Why waste your evenings in some trivial pursuit when you could be playing Trivial Pursuit — and winning a medal, too?

Yes, on Monday, the Board Game Olympics come to Union Hall in Park Slope.

Packer Summer Day Camp

The ultimate team sport includes preliminaries in Trivial Pursuit, Connect Four, and Jenga — and a final round in that giant slolem of board games, Operation.

The games of the 2009 Board Olympiad are the brainchild of Ed Herro of Metro Metro, an event-planning company.

“Because of the nature of board games, you have to meet each other and have to talk,” said Herro. “It’s a very social event.”

There won’t be gold medals, but there will be plenty of carnival-style awards — and, of course, the glory that belongs to all Olympians, no matter their sport.

Next up for Metro Metro is a tournament in Kubb, a Swedish lawn game where players knock over wooden blocks by throwing wooden sticks at them.

“We’re giving it to Brooklyn,” said Herro.
