A cheesy crime

The Brooklyn Paper

Hungry thief

A perp stole a woman’s purse as she was eating dinner at a popular Flatbush Avenue Extension restaurant famous for its specialty dessert on Jan. 12.

The woman told cops she was enjoying a meal at around 6:45 pm, when she placed her purse on an empty chair at the table. But when she reached down to pay for the bill, the purse was gone.

Cops are reviewing surveillance video from the diner, which is at DeKalb Avenue.

Pocketed

A perp stole a man’s wallet along Fulton Street on Jan. 16 in a classic bump-and-grab move.

The victim, who was walking between Duffield and Hoyt streets just after 2 pm when he heard someone asked him a question. Just as he paused, he felt a bump on his right side. But by the time the victim turned around, he realized his wallet was missing from his pocket.

Cops are reviewing surveillance tape from the area.

Dumb-o

Restarurant 213

A punk stole a DUMBO woman’s car on Jan. 17, after she parked it with the keys inside.

The woman arrived home around 7:30 pm, and parked her car at the corner of Pearl and Front streets. She went around the corner to her apartment, but realized that she’d left her keys in the car.

It was gone by the time she got back.

Clean sweep

A thug robbed a popular Livingston Street pizzeria at gunpoint on Jan. 18, but only made off with $30.

The robber entered the shop, which is between Hanover Place and Bond Street, at just before 1 am, walked up to the counter, pulled out a handgun, and demanded all the cash from the register. The employee quickly handed over $30, and the perp raced out of the store.

Crack-berry

A thief grabbed a woman’s cellphone as she was exiting the subway station at Jay and Willoughby streets on Jan. 15, cops said.

The victim was walking up the stairs with her phone in her hand at around 2:15 pm, when a man grabbed the phone. She tried to chase him, but he got away.
