Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Lowell
The Cyclones won a big game, keeping their half-game first-place lead over the Yankees intact, and in doing so, clinched at least a wild-card berth.
The Brooks got on the board first — and it was all Jordany Valdespin. First, the leadoff speedster walked. Then he moved to second on a single, stole third and scored on Ralph Henriquez’s SAC fly.
After the Spinners got their lone run off starter Chris Hillard in the third, the Cyclones stormed back in the fourth on Nicholas Santomauro’s RBI double.
Two more runs scored in the eighth on doubles by Henriquez, Ronald Harris and Juan Centeno.
Reliever Bobby Gagg got the win, his second, thanks to two innings of shutout relief.
