A stun-gun-toting purse snatcher shocked a victim on Bayard Street on Oct. 2 before running off.
The woman was walking home from a bar at around 3 am on Oct. 2 when she sensed a presence behind her. She turned to find a man standing near the intersection of Graham Avenue eyeing her with interest, so she quickened her pace.
But the man matched his pace behind her, and by the time she had reached her door, he was close enough to zap her with an electric stun device similar to a Taser.
She collapsed onto the ground, at which point he struck the stunned victim in the face and grabbed her bag, which contained cash and a cellphone.
A purse snatcher felt the need to use violence on Havemeyer Street on Sept. 30.
The victim was near N. Fifth Street at around 6:45 pm when a man grabbed her around the neck and slapped her, catching her totally unaware. He ran off with her purse, which contained just $40.
A thief took a cartload of camera equipment from a vehicle on Skillman Avenue overnight on Sept. 29.
The victim left his car near Graham Avenue and returned at around noon the next day. Unfortunately, sometime in the wee hours a thief had smashed a side window and taken all of his equipment: a camera, tripod, lenses and a microphone. Cops estimated the haul at $3,500.
Hog-hunting thieves stole two Suzuki motorcycles this week from quiet Greenpoint streets:
• The first victim left his bike on Kingsland Avenue, near Herbert Street, early on Sept. 30. When he came back at noon, his new motorcycle, valued at $10,000, was gone.
• Another victim parked his bike, a 2007 model, on Clifford Place near Meserole Street at 11 am on Oct. 2. He returned 24 hours later to find it gone.
