Ich bin ein crime victim

The Brooklyn Paper

Woman from Hamburg

Two purse-snatchers found a travelling target this week — a member of the foreign press loaded with cash and equipment on Oct. 10.

The German journalist was walking on McKibbin Street near McKibbin Court at around 10:15 pm on the last day of her visit to the rough-and-tumble artists’ enclave of Bushwick when two thugs approached from behind and grabbed her bag.

Her junket was setting off for Honduras the next day, so there was little chance to recover her valuables — two cellphones, credit cards, cash and her German press card.

BMX bilked

A cycling thug did a fancy trick on Oct. 12 — he rode off with a 20-year-old’s BMX bike.

The victim was popping wheelies in the park on the corner of S. Fourth and Roebling streets at around 6:15 pm when the perp approached and said, “Can I ride your bicycle?”

“No way,” said the victim. But instead of backing off, the thief picked up the tiny bike and rode off.

Date rob

Two desperate thugs were arrested for stealing a man’s beer and condoms early on Oct. 10.

The victim had just left a deli at Montrose and Graham avenues, where he’d gone to get the libation and sexual protection for later use with a lady friend who remained in the apartment.

But before he could make it back for his 1:15 am liaison, two thugs stopped him and one said, “Give me all your s— or we will f— you up.”

All he had was the six of Corona, the French letters and the hat on his head, which he turned over to the thugs.

The two suspects were nabbed by law enforcement later that night.

Stuff-less from Seattle

A housebreaker cleaned out an apartment on Marcy Avenue near S. Second Street on Oct. 10.

The victim, a Seattle native, left the unit at around 4 pm to go shopping with his mother, who was visiting from the Emerald City. When mother and son returned two hours later, they discovered that the rear window had been shattered and their stuff had been plundered.

The missing items included a pink Dell laptop, an iPhone, a Kindle, a Bluetooth, prescription drugs and $1,000 in travelers’ checks.

Truth hurts

A car thief stole a Buick on Oct. 6, along with all of the stuff inside it.

The victim told cops that he had parked his maroon sedan on S. Fifth Street near Rodney Street at around 1:30 pm and was only gone for a few hours. Upon his return, he discovered that the car was gone — and with it, African print drums, a printer, a Coleman tent, a humidifier, a cellphone, and worst of all, his prized autographed copy of “Truth” by Jeff Beck.

The man told cops that his apartment was so small that he typically used his car as a storage unit.

That's the car with the bookcase full of shoes on the rear dash!
