Sleep away crime

Was he snoring too loudly? A 27-year-old man who had been snoozing in his car on 89th Street was beaten and robbed by two evil insomniacs on Dec. 4.

The victim said that he was taking an early morning siesta near Third Avenue at around 5 am when two strangers approached and ordered him out of his vehicle.

When he exited the car, the wake-up crew struck him in the face and made off with his credit cards, driver’s license and a fancy cellphone.

80th St. slash

A 29-year-old man was the victim of a blitzkrieg knife attack as he exited his 80th Street home on Dec. 1.

The victim said that he had just opened the door to his home near 13th Avenue at 6:11 am when a man jumped him and began hacking at him with a blade, leaving deep cuts to his face.

The assailant fled as the victim was removed to Lutheran Medical Center for treatment.

Computer swipe

A thief swiped a laptop computer from a 68th Street home on Dec. 4.

The 45-year-old victim told cops that she returned to the house, which is between Eighth Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway, at around 4 pm to find the missing item.

Unholy thief

Cops are scouring the surveillance footage to find the uncharitable churchgoer who rifled a woman’s purse during a Nov. 21 at St. Anselm’s.

The 62-year-old woman told police that she had left her purse in her pew as she went to receive communion at 1:30 pm.

That’s when the thief made a bee-line for her bag, removing $300 and some credit cards before running out of the 82nd Street house of worship.
