Court report

Petty criminals ran wild Downtown last week, even in front of the halls of justice! Here’s a roundup:

• A thug snatched a teenage girl’s wallet after asking her if she had change for a dollar at the corner of Court and Montague streets on Jan. 27 at 6:30 pm. After grabbing the billfold, the crook exclaimed, “That’s a nice wallet!” He made off with $10 and a $25 Old Navy gift card.

• A crook grabbed a man’s Blackberry as he was crossing Court Street on Jan. 29 at 2:20 pm. Police collared the robber between Joralemon and Livingston streets after the victim yelled, “Stop that guy! He stole my phone.”

• A thief swiped a woman’s purse on the F train in the York Street station on Feb. 1 at 5:50 pm. The victim chased the thief — who was wearing work boots and a skullcap — but he got away with $100 and the Brad Pitt movie “Legends of the Fall” on DVD.

Inside job

Crooks stole $650 from the safe at a Schermerhorn Street parking lot overnight on Jan. 28 — and since there was no damage to the lockbox, cops think it was an inside job.

The thieves pushed their way into the booth at the lot, which is between Nevins Street and Third Avenue, sometime after 7 pm, then took the cash from the safe, which an employee said he locked before leaving for the day.

Quite a haul

A thief stole a whole pile of gold and silver jewelry from a woman’s apartment at the corner of Warren and Nevins streets on Jan. 27.

The crook broke in through the living room window of the unit sometime between 7:45 am and 10 pm. He walked out through the front door with four necklaces, four pairs of earrings, a pendant and a watch — with a total estimated value of $1,128.

Not my Astro!

A man’s van was stolen in front of his Dean Street apartment sometime overnight on Jan. 29.

The vehicle had been parked between Third and Fourth avenues at around 9 pm, but was gone by the time the owner returned at 5:30 the next morning.

Cops are looking for a white Chevy Astro with license plate number AXU8037.
