Suddenly, Court Street is a gourmet’s paradise.
Union Market, the Park Slope-based mini-chain, will open its third location today in the long-empty Blockbuster Video site between Douglass and Degraw.
At 4,000 square feet, the new market is significantly bigger than the other two — one on Union Street at Sixth Avenue and the other on Seventh Avenue between 12th and 13th streets in Park Slope.
But it remains smaller than the other grocery behemoth on the Cobble Hill portion of Court Street: Trader Joe’s, which opened to much fanfare last fall.
Prices at Union Market aren’t cheap — but all natural meats, locally grown produce, excellent prepared foods, organic produce and fresh seafood rarely are.
