Cap the World Cup in style with an African music show

Those annoying vuvuzelas at the World Cup are definitely not the only sounds coming out of Africa.

Okay Africa, at the band shell in Prospect Park on July 11, will celebrate the last day of the international soccer tourney, and the launch of music site okayafrica.com, with a performance by The Roots. Currently seen almost nightly as the house band on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” the cooler-than-thou act will pull from their Afro-centric repertoire.

Also on the bill is our own Talib Kweli, who will most likely rock his track “Africa Dream,” as well as three other acts who hail from the motherland.

“The most exciting part of this event is that people can open their ears to the new sound of Africa,” said Okay Africa spokeswoman Virginia Suss.

Expect to party to hip-hop, reggae, electronica and even indie rock, courtesy of The Dragons of Zynth, a rock duo of twin brothers from Ghana. And your host is Sahr Ngaujah, the star of Broadway’s “Fela!”

But do us a favor: Leave the vuvuzela home.
